Google Drive is basically a normal file system like Windows or Mac OS. There are folders, files and a very powerful search function.
Somehow though, most people struggle to get their head around it and in my experience, this is less to do with Google Drive, and more to do with an unfamiliar filing structure. We all have our own ways of arranging our files on our computers and it's no surprise that our folder structure won't make sense at first. I encourage you to use the search feature (magnifying glass icon) as much as you can.
